News is in short supply this week. Everyone is busy swatting flies and mosquitoes, mowing grass and planting gardens. It surely is a pretty time of year, so take some time to look around and let those pretty colors soak in.

We think the ospreys may be going to build on the channel marker after all.

Wayne and Susanne Chubbuck are receiving congratulations on the birth of little Andrew Steven. He was born on April 29.

Congratulations also to Gretchen Spurgat who graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern Maine. Gretchen is the daughter of Gary and Joan Spurgat, and got her degree from the College of Nursing. Nice work!

Polly Tompkins flew to Indiana to attend the graduation of her great-niece from Notre Dame. It was a weekend of family get-togethers and college ceremonies.

I will remind you again that Lee Smith will not be at her desk at the Town Office on May 24 and 25. She will be back on Thursday, May 27.

If you get your paper early enough, there will be a By-Law meeting of the Edgecomb Historical Society at 4 p.m. at 94 Cross Point Road.

Some creature ran off with the bottom piece of my bird feeder. I left it for them to clean out before I put it away. Apparently they had other plans! Unfortunately, they never seem to bring things back.
