Wiscasset Community Center Publishes 28-Page Brochure
John Meo
Members and prospective members of the Wiscasset Community Center need look
no further for programming information than the new 28-page brochure
accompanying this weeks issue of the Wiscasset Newspaper.
The brochure is something Center Assistant Program Director Lisa Brewer has
wanted to produce since she started in Wiscasset.
We figure it will reach about 8,000 people, Brewer said. In addition to
insertions in the newspaper, the brochure will be circulated in other ways as
well.
Were sending one home with every student in the schools, she said.
The brochure replaces the bundles and bundles of flyers the center has been
relying on to advertise its programs, a list that grows on a regular basis.
Brewer said the center produced nearly 40,000 copies of flyers for
distribution, a number that will be significantly reduced in the future.
Every program we offer between now and December will be in there, she said.
Now that we have a brochure, its just a matter of plugging the new
information into it for the next season. She added that the center will still
use flyers for special events.
Also included in the booklet is a letter from Center Director Wayne Applebee,
a complete list of the faculty and staff and member information, including a
registration form.
Brewer said in the future the booklet will have ad space to support
publication costs.
Heather Lutes, an incoming senior at Wiscasset High School involved in the
school-to-work program was responsible for the bulk of the layout, Brewer
said.
If I didnt have her working on it, the brochure would never have gotten out
on time, she said.
