Wiscasset Cub Scouts
Cub Scouts Pack 201 has had a very busy summer, sponsoring events each month
over the summer to earn theScouting National Summertime Award.
In June, they had an outdoor Campfire Crossover Ceremony. Led by Den Leader
Jeff Sondergaard of Edgecomb, 11 Webelos and two Scouts crossed over to Boy
Scout Troop 201 in Wiscasset.
Most joined scouts as Tiger Cubs in first grade and stayed together through
fifth grade.
Boy Scout Troop 201 welcomed the group, the largest number of Cub Scouts to
ever crossover to the Troop in one year.
The scouts had a car wash fundraiser on June 16 at the Wiscasset Fire Dept.
Fifteen Cub Scouts and their families came to help the pack raise over $300
for an upcoming trip to Boston.
The Pack participated in the Wiscasset 4th of July parade. Cubmaster Steve
Peters led the group on their 4th of July decorated bicycles.
In August, the group enjoyedtheir Annual Family Camping trip to DuckPuddle
Campground in Nobleboro.
This past weekend, there was atwo-day concession standat the Wiscasset Adult
Co-Ed Softball Tournament at the Annex Field. More than a dozen scouts and
parents worked at this fundraising eventfor a weekend trip this fall to the
USS Constitution and sightseeing tour in Boston.
Committee members of the pack have been meeting to plan this coming school
years calendarof events and are excited to welcome their newest Committee
Member Wayne Applebee, Director of the Wiscasset Community Center.
Pack 201 will hold its annual School Night For Scouting on September 18 at
6:30 p.m. at Scout Hall,Lincoln Street,Wiscasset.
Boys in grades one through four from Wiscasset, Westport, Edgecomb and Alna
interested in joiningCub Scouts are very welcome to attend.
