Beekeeping Workshop
Part two of a two-part workshop designed for beginning beekeepers will be held on May 19 at 9 a.m. This two-session workshop presented by Marc Plaisted will teach you all of the basics you need to know about beekeeping and bee maintenance. In this second session, we will discuss summer and fall bee hive management and honey/wax issues, including harvesting and processing. This workshop is designed to allow participants to be able to order bees and get started with hives this spring. Cost is $15 per person for one session or $25 per person for both sessions.
Spring Work Day
Join us also on May 19, from 9 a.m. until noon. to help prepare the farm for the growing season. We have several projects that we need help with, including building a deck, planting flowers, and setting up a new home for our very special American Guinea Hog, Samson. We welcome everyone interested in helping out—there will surely be a project appropriate for you! Work days are a great chance to get involved at the Morris Farm and meet a few neighbors. Lunch will be provided for all volunteers.
Please call the farm at 882-4080 for more information or to let us know that you would like to help. |
