Stephen J. Kinney
Stephen J. Kinney, 20, of Westport Island, died in Bath. Born in Damariscotta on September 13, 1987, he was a son of Ann M.
Kinney. He attended Bath and Wiscasset Schools. Mr. Kinney was employed at Wiscasset Ford and later at the Finest Kind
Car Wash in Brunswick. He enjoyed playing basketball, football, ATVing, disc golf and spending
time with his family and his grandfather, Papa Hodgdon who predeceased
him. He also enjoyed having bonfires with his friends. Survivors include his mother, Ann M. Kinney and her longtime companion
Scott Soule, and his brother, Travis S. Padilla, all of Wiscasset; his
maternal grandmother, Sarah L. Hodgdon of Westport Island; his maternal
grandfather, Arthur R. Kinney of Gorham; his aunt and uncle, Carol and
Andy James of Wiscasset; two cousins, J.J. James and Jesse James, many
great-aunts, uncles and cousins. A funeral service was held Wednesday, September 26 at the United Church
of Christ Congregational on Congress Avenue in Bath. Burial followed at
Oak Grove Cemetery in Bath. A gathering of family and friends followed at the American Legion on
Congress Street in Bath. Memorial contributions may be made to the Stephen J. Kinney Scholarship
