Join the Sheepscot Valley Conservation Association on a mystery trip to
explore the upper reaches of the Sheepscot River on Saturday, October 13.
We'll travel in a 24-person coach, hearing along the way from SVCA's
Executive Director, Maureen Hoffman about the natural resources and
cultural history of the area. Highlights of the trip will be looks at
historically important sites along the river and important natural
resources along the road as well as opportunities for short guided walks
at SVCA and SWLA-protected properties.
The trip is timed for fall foliage viewing and is being organized in
conjunction with our sister land trust, the Sheepscot Wellspring Land
Alliance (SWLA), based in Montville. Lunch will be provided at the home of
a SWLA board member, along with a chance to meet SVCA and SWLA members,
and we also plan a break at a regional favorite, John's Ice Cream Factory
in Liberty.
The cost is $40 which includes transportation, expert narration, guided
walks and lunch. We'll leave SVCA headquarters in Sheepscot Village at
8:30 a.m., rain or shine, and be back by mid to late afternoon.
Reserve early to guarantee a seat by contacting the SVCA at 586-5616 or
svca@sheepscot.org.
