Jail promotions recognized
The Two Bridges Regional Jail held its first promotional ceremony
for five staff members October 4 at Bintliff's Ocean Grill in
Edgecomb.
Lincoln/Sagadahoc Jail Authority Clerk Katharine Martin-Savage gave
the oath of office to Adam Archer, who was promoted from sergeant to
lieutenant, and Susan Schena, who was promoted from corrections off
i
cer to sergeant.
"The citizens of Lincoln and S
a
gadahoc counties should be very proud of the staff at Two Bridges
Regional Jail," Savage said "They are the best of the best."
Other staff members receiving promotions who were unable to a
t
tend because of work included Kaleb Colbry, promoted from sergeant to
lieutenant, and Paul Rolfe, promoted from corrections officer to
sergeant.
Jeff Reger was promoted from maintenance worker to maintenance
technician. He was previously a co
r
rections supervisor at the Lincoln County Jail for 19 years before
b
e
coming a maintenance worker at Two Bridges. Colonel Wayne Applebee
said, "It's great to have someone with correctional exper
i
ence working within the facility."
In order to be promoted, the staff members must complete a written
test and go before an oral board.
"Their attendance record is r
e
viewed, their work ethics, and their ability to remain calm when
dealing with people that, in most cases, the public doesn't want to deal
with," Applebee said.
"These are fine people we are re
c
ognizing here today," he said. "My sincere congratulations to those
pe
o
ple here today and those that are not here."
"This is the first promotion cer
e
mony Two Bridges Regional Jail has held since we opened last Nove
m
ber," Applebee said. "I don't think we do enough to recognize the work
of these men and women."
Applebee opened the ceremony with the Pledge of Allegiance. Two
Bridges Regional Jail Chaplain Wally Staples gave the invocation. A
reception was held following the ceremony.
