Bypass information available

Pamela Dunning

The Wiscasset Public Library has copies of the Wiscasset Route 1 Corridor Study DEIS/Section 4 (f) Evaluation.

Interested parties may view copies of the book at the library or check them out to read and study elsewhere.

The Maine Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration have worked on the Wiscasset Route 1 Corridor Study to evaluate the proposed alternative routes to reline traffic congestion on Route 1 Wiscasset and the surrounding towns.

This study examines the environmental effects of all five build alternatives as well as the "No-build" alternative. The purpose of this study is to provide MaineDOT, FHWA and the public with a full accounting of all possible impacts that may arise from the construction of a bypass.
