Society honors Reeds
The Woolwich Historical Society will hold its fifth annual Recognition Dinner and Silent Auction Saturday, November 3, at the Taste of Maine Restaurant in Woolwich.
The event will include a presentation of a "Distinguished Service Award" to Bud and Betty Reed for their support of the Society. The Reeds, who are charter members, have helped out in many ways, including fixing up the museum rooms; sharing Woolwich history with many groups; cutting weeds, serving on the board of directors; and helping to write the history of Woolwich.
"We would not be what we are today without their involvement," Society President Debbie Locke said.
The event will start with a social hour and silent auction at 5 p.m., and a buffet dinner at 6 p.m., followed by the presentation about 6:45 p.m.
