Morris Farm

The Morris Farm is hosting a Spooky Barn for four days including up to Halloween evening. The Spooky Barn is an expansion of the popular "Spooky Cellar" held for the past two years at the Alna Store. The creative spirits of Aaron Weissblum, Kate Nordstrom and Greg Wallace, who helped assemble the Spooky Cellar, are now carving the Morris Farm barn into a series of spooky and surprising (not scary) pathways and portals. Assisting this tricky trio are students from the Wiscasset schools and participants in regular Morris Farm educational programming.

In addition to the Spooky Barn, old-time games will be assembled for the enjoyment of young and old. Prizes, including pumpkins, baked goods, other treats and novelties will be awarded.

The Spooky Barn will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, Saturday, Oct. 27, Sunday Oct. 28, and Halloween night (Wed., Oct. 31).

Sponsors for the event include Mike and Amy Preston from the Alna Store, Treats in Wiscasset, and Jeff and Amy Burchstead from Buckwheat Blossom Farm.

A donation of $5 is suggested, free for children 6 and under. A Boo-tiful evening is promised.

The Morris Farm is located at 156 Gardiner Road (Rte. 27) in Wiscasset, of a mile north of Route 1. For more information about Spooky Barn, or other Morris Farm programs, call (207) 882-4080.
