Candy Cane Train runs Dec. 8 and 15
Celebrate Christmas with family and friends by taking the Candy Cane
Train with Santa and his elves next month.
The Candy Cane Train will take a 90-minute trip from Bath to Wiscasset
and back to Bath on Saturday, December 8 and Saturday, December 15. There
will be four trips on each day. Departure times are 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1
p.m. and 3 p.m.
Sponsored by Tri-County Literacy, this is an opportunity to support two
programs dedicated to improving literacy from Waldoboro to Freeport: Read
With Me Family and Literacy Volunteers for Adults. One in every six adults
in the northern part of Cumberland County, Sagadahoc County and Lincoln
County functions at the lowest literacy levels. This event raises money to
buy materials for the program.
There will also be an adults-only Candy Cane train on December 15
leaving at 5:30 p.m. The price for this fund-raising event is $25; wine
and appetizers will be served free of charge.
