Boys Scout Troop 201

Boy Scouts from Troop 201 and Cub Scouts from Pack 201 fanned out over Wiscasset, Westport Island and Edgecomb collecting almost 100 bags of food for the St. Philip's Area Food Bank last Saturday before the storm hit.  We would like to thank everyone who donated towards this worthy cause.  If we happened to miss you or you forgot to put out your bag, you can donate non-perishable food items anytime by bringing them directly to St. Philip's Church.  The food bank is located in the social hall as you first enter the building (look for the signs).

The troop is continuing to work on the First Aid Merit Badge.  Over the next two weeks members of the Wiscasset EMS will be instructing our troop on various aspects of first aid (thanks guys!).  Our next campout is November 16 - 18 on Westport Island.  We will be holding mock accidents to test our first aid knowledge throughout the weekend.

This weekend several scouts will be going to the Portland Pirates hockey game.  It's a special scouting event and each participant will receive a special patch on top of the chance to witness the Portland Pirates take on the Providence Bruins.  Guaranteed fun and excitement.  On Sunday the troop is planning an orienteering hike in Wiscasset. This five-mile event will test their orienteering skills and complete one of the requirements for their Second Class Rank.

Popcorn arrives this weekend!  If you ordered some popcorn, that scout will be delivering your order within the next two weeks.  This is a major fund-raiser for the troop and allows the boys to earn money towards essential troop activities such as camping trips, hikes, summer camp and much, much more.  To all of you who purchased popcorn at our show and sell and/or donated money to the troop, THANK YOU!

If you are between the ages of 11 and 18 and would like to join us, call Bob Marcus at 882-9514 or Rich Bosio at 633-7278.  We meet every Thursday at Scout Hall in Wiscasset between the hours of 6:30 and 8 p.m. with weekend activities at least once a month.
