Bypass meetings continue next week
Meetings for residents to ask questions and make comments regarding the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) on the Wiscasset Bypass will continue next week in Edgecomb and Wiscasset.
The DEIS compares the effects of the five proposed bypass routes around Wiscasset, as well as the no-build alternative. The meetings will feature a brief presentation on the routes and an opportunity to ask questions and make comments on the alternative routes.
The Maine Department of Transportation is looking to receive comments on the DEIS from now until December 21.
The DEIS can be viewed at local town offices and libraries, or at www.wiscassetroute1corridor.com . Comments can be made via the web site, letter, or at the meetings themselves.
The meeting schedule is:
November 28 - 6:30 p.m. Wiscasset Senior Center Dinner, (reservations needed for 5:30 p.m. dinner, 882-8230)
November 29 - 6 p.m., Edgecomb Town Hall
December 1 - 10 a.m., Edgecomb Town Hall
December 3 - 6 p.m., Alna Fire Station
December 4 - 7 p.m., Wiscasset High School
