Holiday assistance programs announced

Lincoln County Family Holiday Wishes

Volunteers throughout Lincoln County will be working together this holiday season to provide assistance to those in need, serving the public through six locally based programs.

Each of the programs listed below will network with the other programs to ensure that those in need are assisted effectively without duplication of services.

Lincoln County Family Holiday Wishes will be providing their familiar pink and blue Wish Tags to any program requesting them. Each Wish Tag represents the holiday wish of a local child and will begin appearing on Wish Trees located throughout the area next week.

Shoppers can select a tag, purchase the gift, and then return it to the Wish Tree location - fulfilling that child's holiday wish. A list of Wish Tree locations will be published next week.

Applications for holiday assistance are based on the applicant's home town as follows:

Waldoboro - Melody at the Waldoboro Police Department, 832-4500.

Wiscasset, Edgecomb and Westport Island - Sue at the Wiscasset Town Office, 882-8200, ext. 101.

Bristol/South Bristol -Jenny at the Bristol Fire Department, 677-2211.

Nobleboro - Mike at the Nobleboro Fire Department, 563-8816

Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor -Marian, 633-2051.

Dresden - Jeannine at the Bridge Charitable Trust, 737-4485.

Damariscotta, Newcastle, Bremen, Jefferson, Alna, Somerville, and Whitefield - Carol at Lincoln County Family Holiday Wishes, 350-0201.
