I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving full of turkey, family,
and fun. The Christmas season has moved swiftly upon us. Many of you are
already shopping and wrapping, preparing for parties and traveling, making
plans and realizing December just seems to be the shortest month of the
year.
Paul and I decided to do something different for Thanksgiving this
year. We have wanted to travel to Lubec for many years and just never
made the time. This year, we're taking mom and heading up there for a
couple of days. None of us has ever been there, but Paul's Dad, Bill
Bonyun, spent a lot of time there teaching history through folk songs and
ballads in the schools, so we'd like to see the area that was so dear to
his heart.
Please put on your calendar the annual Christmas program held at the
Westport Community Church located beside the Old Town Hall. The program
begins at 7 p.m. on Sunday, December 9. Following the program, please
gather at the town hall for fellowship and refreshments. This program
always brings a sense of peace and community to the holidays. The event is
free to attend and if you need a ride, you can call one of the Human
Resource Volunteers. Feel free to call Georgia Sledge at 882-7645 for
more information about the program.
