Kyle Goulette killed in crash
Kyle Goulette, a 21-year-old South Bristol man, was killed in an accident about 1:30 a.m. on November 22 in South Bristol. Goulette was a passenger in a car driven by 23 year-old Paul Andrews, Jr. of Wiscasset.
According to police, Andrews lost control as he rounded a bend on Route 129, went into a ditch and hit a tree. Goulette lived in Wiscasset before moving to South Bristol.
Andrews was taken to Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta and released.
According to a press release issued by the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, Andrews was most likely wearing his seatbelt, but it is unknown if Goulette was buckled in. The state of Maine Medical Examiner's Office will be releasing an official cause of death.
No charges have presently been filed against Andrews, but deputies from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office are investigating the crash "to determine if alcohol, speed, or drugs were a factor." The press release also said that the crash was reconstructed by the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office.
South Bristol Fire and Rescue, Central Lincoln County Ambulance, and the Lincoln County District Attorney's Office helped the Sheriff's Office at the scene of the crash. |
