The town of Wiscasset's Santa Fund collects money every year to make sure families who need help at Christmas will receive it.

The town also takes part in the "Adopt a Family" program in which residents or organizations or businesses adopt a family at Christmas to provide gifts and/or dinner for the family.

Another opportunity to help others is the "Tag Tree" at the town office. People can pick a tag with gift information on it, buy the gift and return the wrapped gift (with the tag) and place it under the tree. Gifts will be needed by 3 p.m. on Friday, December 21. Anyone interested in helping out with any of these activities is asked to call Sue Varney at the town office at 882-8200, ext. 101 by Friday, December 14.
