There were two divisions at the meet, a sixth and seventh grade, and an
eighth grade division. Messalonskee took first place in both
divisions.
Wiscasset's sixth and seventh grade team tied for seventh place, along
with Mt. Ararat and Brunswick. Wiscasset competed in three close matches,
first losing to Winthrop 6-5, then defeating Gardiner 8-7, and losing to
Hodgkins 9-7 in their final match. Cameron Mugnai, Ryan Hanley, and Nate
Howard did an outstanding job competing in their first math meet.
Wiscasset's eighth grade team also did well at the meet, finishing
fifth. In their first match, Wiscasset lost a close match with
Messalonskee 11-10, after two tiebreaker questions. Wiscasset then
defeated Great Salt Bay 12-8, and Mt. Ararat 6-5. In their final match,
Wiscasset lost to tournament runner-up St. Michaels 9-6 in their final
match.
Te eighth grade was represented by Nat Blackford, Emily Whitaker,
Hunter Reid, Ricky Cost, Jonathan West, Ryan Peters, and James Brown.
