Sagadahoc reappoints three to jail authority

The Sagadahoc County Commissioners reappointed three Lincoln/Sagadahoc
Jail Authority members on December 11 whose terms expire December 31.
Re-appointed to three-year terms were Todd McPhee, District 2; Steve
Gardiner, District 3; and William Plumber IV, District 2. Sagadahoc
Sheriff Mark Westrum was appointed to a one-year term, and Chief Deputy
Jay Manhardt was appointed as an alternate for a one-year term. Other
members from Sagadahoc County whose terms have not expired include Peter
Lepari and Kris D. Lidback.
The jail authority, which oversees the Two Bridges Regional Jail in
Wiscasset, is made up of 12 members - six representatives from Lincoln
County, and six representatives from Sagadahoc County.
Lincoln County Authority members include Commissioner Sheridan Bond,
Charles Ault, Katharine Martin-Savage, Sheriff Todd Brackett, Daniel
Bradford and Harold Lewis. Alternates from Lincoln County are Justice John
Atwood and Commissioner William Blodgett.
The authority meets the first Wednesday of each month at the jail. The
meeting agenda includes reports from several standing committees, which
include: The Finance Committee; Human Resources Committee; Executive
Committee; Bylaws Committee; the Correctional Administrator's report which
includes the staffing update, jail population, and whatever else had come
up since the last meeting.
The authority is working on hiring a new correctional administrator to
replace Colonel Wayne Applebee, who resigned from the position to take a
job in Sarasota County, Florida.
