Wiscasset town manager Arthur Faucher, hired under a two-year contract, has been asked by selectmen to stay on for at least another year after this contract runs out.
Faucher expressed surprise that when he was first hired, he was offered a two-year contract. Usually first contracts are only for a year, he said. That contract is up in December of 2008.
In an executive session held December 18, Faucher said the selectmen asked if he would say yes to a third year, and he said he would.
"They gave me a good performance review," Faucher said last week. Faucher came to Wiscasset from Madawaska, where he had been town manager for 16 years.
Faucher said when he was hired under the two-year contract, he told selectmen he would like to have a performance evaluation after a year. |
