One of Wiscasset's newest businesses is an electric service owned by a young local couple who were born and raised in Maine, love Maine, want to stay in Maine, and raise their children here.
Kimberly and Mark Lincoln were married this past August and will have their first child this coming August. Mark, after working for many years for other electrical contractors decided, in October, to go out on his own, after receiving his master electrician license.
His business is called Lincoln's Electrical Service, with a slogan of "No job too small, quality service at a fair price."
He has an impressive background in electrical experience which began while he was in high school at the age of 16, and has received many commendations from employers for his work.
Becoming a master electrician was Mark's ambition, and he worked hard to achieve that goal. He traveled to Holliston, Mass. every weekend for four years, a three and a half hour drive one way, to participate in the electrical apprenticeship training program sponsored by Wayne J. Griffin Electric, Inc.
During those years, while traveling to Holliston every Saturday, he worked five days a week at Griffin Electric before opening his own business. He said, "I really felt bad about leaving that company. They were very good to me, and I owe them a lot."
While working for Griffin Electric he was on the job at the Maine State Prison, in Warren, during its construction, and the York County Jail in Alfred. "I did more time there, than the standard sentence for the county inmates," Mark said with a chuckle.
He also did electrical work on the Target store in South Portland; Wells, Belfast, and Bucksport Middle schools; the Waterville Fire Station; renovations and addition to the Scarborough High School, and the Southern Maine Technical College in Portland.
Lincoln began electrical work with John Madore in Dresden during the summer while going to high school.
He worked for two years with Deblois Electric, doing a lot of work in Lewiston, Auburn, Augusta, and Biddeford.
He worked at the St Mary's Hospital, Central Maine Medical Center, and Tri-county Mental Health, in Lewiston; Best Buy in Biddeford and Auburn; F.W. Webb in Augusta and Biddeford, while working for Deblois electric.
He is currently working at Cozy Harbor Seafood in South Bristol, with other work lined up to do in the area.
The Lincolns are very excited and enthusiastic about their new business, and are looking forward to providing a service to the people in the community.
Their office is located at their home on the Foye Road, telephone number 882-4252 or 441-3416.
Mark is the son Leroy and Roxanne Lincoln of Whitefield, and Kimberley is the daughter of Gary and Janet Fairfield of Wiscasset. |
