Hey, Bill! We know what happened to your Christmas present…

Wiscasset transfer station superintendent Woodie Freeman was just doing a little picking up one day recently when he found something that definitely should not have made its way into someone's household trash.
It was a Christmas present.
We can't say what it was, because all kinds of people who didn't get what they wanted for Christmas would call to claim it.
We do know who it was a present for, and his name is Bill.
The card attached to the little tin box containing the present said, "Merry Christmas, Bill, We Love You, from Chuck, Cindy, Sadie and Jackson."
Even though he is well known and knows nearly everyone in town, Woodie couldn't figure out who it belonged to, so he took the little tin box with the ripped wrapping paper hanging off it directly to the Wiscasset Police Department, where it is being held safely until "Bill" calls the police station and tells "Betty," the nice person who answers the phone, that the thing in the little tin box is his. And that phone number is 882-8202. |
