A reported six-week investigation by the Kennebec County Sheriff's Office has led to the arrest of the manager and owner of the local Quik Stop convenience store on Route 27 in Wiscasset.
Catherine McDevitt, 51, who owns the store with her family, turned herself into police on Tuesday, and her husband, Randy McDevitt, 52, turned himself in on Saturday. Both were charged with unlawful trafficking of drugs and were being held on $25,000 cash bail or $200,000 property bail. Police said they seized 60 pounds of processed marihuana at their home on Lewiston Road in West Gardiner, estimated to be worth about $120,000. The store was open on Wednesday morning. |
