Betty J. Gray
Betty J. Gray, 81, of Bath, formerly of Wiscasset, died Thursday,
February 21, after a short illness at a Brunswick hospital. Born in York on March 20, 1926, she was a daughter of Albert and Doris
(Parsons) Eaton. She graduated from York High School in 1943 and from Farmington
Teacher's College in 1947. She taught in Auburn for six years and then
became a member of the first faculty of the newly built Bath Junior High
School. Mrs. Gray was a member of the United Church of Christ in Bath. She
taught Sunday school and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and making articles
for the church fair. She was predeceased by her husband, Earl Gray on March 15, 1993; and
one sister, Barbara Littlefield. Survivors include one daughter, Lynne (Gray) Pepek of Jackson, New
Jersey; two stepsons, Glendon Gray of Quebec, Canada and Vaughn Gray of
Wiscasset; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A Funeral Service was held at Daigle Funeral Home in Wiscasset on
Sunday, February 24 with Rev. Bill Bliss officiated. Burial will be at
Mt. Rest Cemetery in Brooksville in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation,
Northern New England Chapter, 114 Perimeter Road, Nashua, NH 03063.

Betty A. Koehling
Betty Ann Koehling, 70 of Wiscasset, died Monday, February 25 at her
residence. Born in Camden on June 12, 1937, she was a daughter of Walker A. and
Sylvia M. (Genthner) McLeod. In 1955 she graduated from Wiscasset Academy and attended nursing
school. On August 3, 1956 she married Bernard G. Koehling Jr. and was
employed at the telephone company in Portland and Bath. She was then
employed as a waitress at Casey's Diner in Wiscasset and for Dr. Quick in
his dentist office for six years. Mrs. Koehling was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in
Wiscasset. She enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, gardening and
helping people. Survivors include her husband, Bernard G. Koehling, Jr. of Wiscasset;
two sons, Bernard G. Koehling III of Arizona and Charles Koehling of
Wiscasset; one daughter, Laurie Rector and her husband Ronald of Houston,
Texas; one brother, Edward McLeod and his wife Susan of West Bath; one
sister, Connie Dalton of Wiscasset; her mother-in-law, Louisa Koehling of
Wiscasset; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces
and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 2 at the
Church of the Nazarene in Wiscasset with Pastor Wally Staples officiating.
A gathering of family and friend will follow at the Church Fellowship
Hall. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Nazarene, P.O.
Box 458, Wiscasset, ME 04578. Arrangements are by Daigle Funeral Home, 40 Federal Street in
Wiscasset.

Virginia D. Humason
Virginia Alice Dodge Humason, 87, of Waldoboro, died Wednesday,
February 20. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, April 7, 1920, she was the daughter of
Jesse B. Dodge and Esther D. Marr. Mrs. Humason was a member of the Second Congregational Church of
Newcastle. She was predeceased by her parents; and a son, Walter E. Humason. Survivors include her sister, Elizabeth Nomeyko of Brunswick; a
brother, Roger B. Dodge and his wife Dorothy of Connecticut; one daughter,
Dorothy Jones of Wiscasset; six grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren. She will be laid to rest, with her family at the River Road
Cemetery, Newcastle, in the spring at a date and time to be announced. Arrangements are entrusted to the Strong Funeral Home and Cremation
Center, 612 Main Street, Damariscotta. |
