Clarification
The newspaper received a letter this week from Attorney Mark E. Susi
requesting a "retraction or clarification" relating to Catherine McDevitt
as being identified as the "owner and operator" of the Wiscasset Quik Stop
in a story printed in the February 28, 2008 issue.
"The Wiscasset Quik Stop is a corporation," Susi's letter said.
"Ms. McDevitt is not an owner of any stock in the corporation. She is
the manager of the store but your article and lead sentence makes it
appear that she has an ownership interest there and that the store is
somehow implicated."
