A walk through a wildflower garden subject of talk

Garden Club of Wiscasset
Perhaps due to the wintry weather that never seems to end, members of the Garden Club of Wiscasset were delighted March 6 when Jean Libby of Gorham took them on a virtual tour of her wildflower garden in springtime.
In a slide presentation at the March 6 monthly meeting of the club held at the First Congregational Church in Wiscasset, Libby, a former Connecticut resident who moved to "an old family home" in Maine in 1985, showed plants (from previous springs) peeping through the soil in a variety of shapes and colors -- white, pink, yellow, violet, some of which had been planted by her father at the turn of the century and come up faithfully year after year.
The slideshow followed a business meeting and luncheon hosted and prepared by club members Sue Downer, Judy Hughes, Priscilla Hansen and Sandy Hopkins.
Prior to the luncheon, members in the monthly flower design practice group created a "synergistic" arrangement - consisting of three similar objects grouped together to form the synergy. Lois Rendall, a mentor to the design practice group, called the arrangements "smashing," clearly proud of the work of her students.
