Morning Dew Farm
The owners of Morning Dew Farm invite individuals and families who want fresh, seasonal produce direct from a local farm committed to organic standards to join their Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program for the 2008 season.
Each week you'll receive a share of the freshest, most delicious vegetables that the fields have to offer. The first weeks include lettuce, spinach, arugula, chard, scallions, early peas and broccoli. The arrival of zucchini marks a transition, and soon after, beans, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and garlic will be available. As the daylight hours begin to wane in September, hearty stock like potatoes, onions, parsnips and winter squash will fill your larders.
The cost of the share is $325 and is designed for a two-adult household but often suits families with children. Pick up is available at the farm on Thursday evenings or Friday mornings at the Damariscotta Farmers' Market from mid-June through mid-October.
Becoming a part of Morning Dew Farm entitles you to more than a season's worth of local, organic food. Your investment helps protect priceless Maine farmland and promotes economic and agricultural sustainability. By keeping your dollars in the Maine economy and investing in farming methods that engender the health of the land, you will be strengthening the local economy, the local community, and eating with your health and the health of the environment in mind.
If you've been thinking about joining a CSA program, this is an excellent opportunity to find out what everybody's been talking about and to experience the best of the season's bounty.
