Soup Group nearing goal

The Soup Group is nearing the $5,000 goal, and extends thanks to everyone for their support. There will be two more soups offered this season in hopes of reaching the goal by summer.

This is a venture sponsored by area Sunday school children and supportive adults who are raising money for Heifer International. On a regular basis the group representing the Sheepscot Community Church, the Midcoast Friend's Meeting in Damariscotta, the Edgecomb Congregational Church, UCC, and the Unitarian-Universalist Fellowship in Edgecomb prepare take out meals for Sunday supper.

This month's offering is a choice of fish or corn chowder. Each serving comes complete with an individual serving of herb rolls and brownies

Orders should be placed by Tuesday, April 2 and can be picked up at The Edgecomb Congregational Church on Cross Point Road in Edgecomb between 4:30 and 5 p.m. Delivery can be arranged.

The cost will be $6 per serving. A family portion, enough for a family of four will be $20. Additional servings for the family portion are $4.

Donations of money are also appreciated.

To reserve a take out supper call Debbie Boucher at 882-8402 or call the Edgecomb Congregational Church at 882-4060 and leave a message. The reservation will be confirmed. Orders can also be e-mailed to ECC@gwi.net .
