Woolwich wants names of residents with library cards

The Patten Free Library of Bath is asking the town of Woolwich to donate over $43,000 toward the operating cost of the library for the 2008-2009 year.

Governor John Baldacci's plan to merge the county jails into the state prison system is not good for Lincoln and Sagadahoc counties, according to Commissioner Sheridan Bond, who also serves as chairman of the Lincoln and Sagadahoc Jail Authority.

Woolwich fire set

The fire at Dot's Good Deals on Route 1 in Woolwich on March 30 was intentionally set, according to the state Fire Marshal's office. An arson investigation is underway, according to Inspector Dan Young from the office.
