The Wiscasset Budget Committee would like to invite the citizens of Wiscasset to attend an informational meeting on the budget articles that are being prepared.

On April 26, at 9 a.m., in the Wiscasset Middle School gym - your Budget Committee will be hosting a Saturday meeting. The purpose of this meeting is also to present the ballot articles as written and provide responses to citizen's questions. The absentee ballots will be available on May 9, and this will give people who can't make it to the Tuesday meeting or who just prefer to attend a Saturday meeting an opportunity to do so and present their questions.

Your town manager, selectmen and Budget Committee have nearly completed their task of reviewing each department's budget, requests for capital projects and the impact of each area on the total municipal budget. We request your attendance to share this information with you. Department heads will also be on hand to help us with the questions.

This meeting is informational only - no voting will take place associated with the ballot articles. The School Budget will not be presented or addressed during these meetings.

The final meeting in this year's series of municipal meetings will be the official Public Hearing for the articles on the ballot, presented by the Selectmen on May 29, at 6 p.m., at the Middle School Gym. Please join us.
