Invitation to Wine and Cheese with

Friends of Fort Edgecomb

The Fort Edgecomb Bicentennial Committee invites you to an Evening of Wine and Cheese at Bintliff's Ocean Grille on Thursday, April 17, from 4 to 9 p.m. The restaurant is at the Edgecomb end of the Davey Bridge from Wiscasset. The affair will be located on the second floor, and besides wines and cheeses, will feature a fabulous silent auction.  Ten percent of the profits from the Ocean Grille's Thursday evening's meals will also be donated to us! If you plan to dine there, reservations are recommended.

Energy Expo

April 18-19

The Midcoast Green Collaborative of Damariscotta will hold its second annual midcoast Sustainable Energy Expo on April 18 and 19 at the CLC YMCA on Business Route 1 in Damariscotta. Over 50 exhibitors are expected to show and demonstrate the latest "green" heating equipment and building materials, wind and solar, electricity generators, electric powered and hybrid vehicles, d.i.y. insulation and energy efficient products. Admission is free.

The Bargain Basement Thrift Store at St. Philip's Episcopal Church, 12 Hodge Street in Wiscasset will have an anniversary "Sale-bration" on Saturday, April 26 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Help celebrate its first anniversary with special sales throughout the day, gift certificate drawings, "souper" lunch served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call 882-7184.

National Day Of Prayer

On Thursday, May 1, the Water Of Life Lutheran Church in Newcastle will observe the 57th annual National Day of Prayer. Church members will meet at the Newcastle Square Park next to the Second Congregational Church, Business Route 1, at noon on May 1. All are invited.

Saturday, May 3

Edgecomb Eddy School

Giant Yard Sale

On Saturday, May 3, the Edgecomb Eddy School PTC will hold its Fifth Annual Giant Yard Sale at the school on Route 27. This event will be held rain or shine, and the shopping hours are from 8 a.m. until noon.

There will be over 30 tables of yard sale items, crafts and antiques to choose from. Many local organizations will have fund-raising tables, and breakfast foods will be for sale as well. Table rentals are still available for $20 each. Please contact Judy Reid at 882-5515 for details.
