Morris Farm Trust
Every spring, the Morris Farm holds a volunteer work day. Gardens are prepared for planting, planter boxes are filled, minor carpentry and painting and other sprucing up is done around the farm.
At the end of the collective effort, a barbeque replenishes those who have contributed to the upkeep of the "Midcoast's community farm," working and educational non-profit farm. Morris Farm Volunteer Work Day is planned for Saturday, May 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This year's special projects include refurbishing the home of Samson (the Morris Farm mascot), and importantly, trail work, in anticipation of the June 7 "National Trail Day" celebration in conjunction with the Wiscasset Community Center and the Town of Wiscasset.
The public is encouraged to spend part of Saturday, May 17 at the farm, enjoying the camaraderie of the community, and experiencing the "essential connections between people, land and meaningful labor." |
