Moratorium `too vague,' selectmen told

Wording in a citizens' petition, calling for a moratorium on all "commercial use" buildings is too vague, according to the Maine Municipal Association, Edgecomb Selectman Stuart Smith reported to his fellow selectmen at their weekly meeting.

School budget too high budget committee says

Wiscasset's proposed school budget is too high, members of the town's budget committee and four candidates for selectmen's positions said Tuesday.

School union agree on contract

Wiscasset school teachers will be receiving back pay to September of 2006, following settlement of their union contract with the town. The teachers' last contract ended in August of 2006.

Woolwich says yes to library, no to rescue boat

Emotions ran high at the Woolwich town meeting last week on a couple of issues, but not nearly as high as near the end of the meeting, around 11 p.m., when a motion was made to reconsider an article that had failed earlier.
