Wiscasset Public Library is hosting "Project Internet: Exploration and Safety," presented by Sexual Assault Support Services in partnership with Verizon Foundation. This free workshop will be held on Wednesday, May 21 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Have you ever wondered what your kids are doing online and with their cell phones? Are you unsure about how to protect yourself from identity theft? Are you concerned about your child using sites like MySpace and Facebook? Then this is the workshop for you.
This workshop will help parents and community members learn more about Internet Safety. Information and resources will be given for internet users of all ability levels and will include information to help protect children and adults while navigating the World Wide Web.
Learn more about MySpace, Facebook, YouTube, Identity Theft, Phishing, Cyberbullying, Internet language, Instant messaging and all of the other things you may have heard about and don't understand. The internet is enormous and can be quite frightening to the uninitiated.
Please sign up by May 19 at the Wiscasset Public Library (207-882-7161) or e-mail communityed@sass mm.org or wpl@wiscasset.lib.me.us.
Remember there is no fee to attend and a wealth of piece of mind to gain. Let us help you find the understanding you need to safely navigate the World Wide Web. |
