The Wiscasset Public Library is once again inviting children to sign up
for the Children's Summer Reading Program. This year's theme is "Catch the
Reading Bug," a program full of bugs and creepy crawlers. Come explore the
amazing world of bugs!
Participants will read books about insects and do activities related to
the theme. Some exciting activities are being planned to encourage
children to continue their reading skills during the summer, and the
program is also a fun activity for parents to share with their children.
Chewonki will be presenting their "Bugmobile Program," and on Thursday
mornings there will be story time and crafts.
Prizes are awarded for books read and activities completed. Each child
who registers will receive a free ticket to a Sea Dogs baseball game. All
who complete the program will be invited to an ice cream party.
Registration begins in the Children's Room on Tuesday, June 17. Special
programs and activities will be held on Thursdays starting at 10:30 a.m.
in the Children's Room beginning June 26. The program ends on Friday,
August 1.
The summer reading program is generously supported by Wiscasset Public
Library, Friends of the Library, Shaw's Supermarket and Big Al's.
Library hours during the summer are Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.;
Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Thursday and Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
