The private collection of antique painted furniture which belonged to
the late Margaret Brockway (Peg) Ofslager, a long-time Wiscasset antiques
dealer, will be included in the Lincoln Home Founders Day Auction to be
held on Wednesday, August 6.
Approximately 75 pieces from this marvelous private collection that
graced her summer home in Cundy's Harbor for many years were consigned to
the Lincoln Home Founders Day Auction by her nieces. The consignment was
made in recognition of Mrs. Ofslager's participation in the Founders Day
Auction for more than 25 years.
Included in the collection are an intricately hand painted chest, a
beadboard cabinet, tables, chairs, lamps, and some paintings of ships.
Mary Hodes, a retired Newcastle antiques dealer and current resident of
the Lincoln Home, spent an hour happily admiring some of the pieces to be
included in the Founders Day auction.
